Cranda - Slobovia Union Causes Controvesy

The proposed union between Cranda and Slobovia, two 'germanic themed' micronations founded by Robert Belci and Troy Thompson respectivly, has caused a degree of friction between the majority of the two peoples and long time Crandan Vladimir Volkov. In viocing his fears Volkov stated

I am worried that Kranda will become the colony. Every nation you have ever gotten involved in, Troy, you have attempted to gain absolute power and you stay in absolute power in the nations you have created and try to enforce your nation's will over other nations. Yes I am very worried that if this merger goes through Kranda will become the subjugated micronation of "Slobovia's Little Puppet Whipping Boy". If the worst happens and the merger goes through, I am keeping the province of Jutien.

Under the proposed union Troy Thompson was to become the head of state whilst the nation remained on the Crandan ezboard with ezop to be held by a Crandan citizen. Cranda being the larger nation would undoubtably control the new nations legislature.

The vast majority of citizens in both nations and a number of 'blowin's who look like joining the new nation support the union. However the Volkov controvesy has promted a shift in the focus of the union, executive power is now likely to be held by dual heads of state, and all involved are now pursuing greater centralization.
