Breuddwyd Announces Coup Policy

In responce to a number of micronational coups, sepcifically within the dutch micronational sector, the Kingdom of Breuddwyd has announced a new policy on how it intends to deal with such occurances. In a statement to the micro-nations.org forum the King of Breuddwyd claimed that this new policy was the best reconciliation of his belief that all those involved in micronational coups should be taken out the back and shot, and the fact that coups in micronations often succeed fait accompli (namely when the entities resulting from coups have the only remaining claim to a micronational identity.)

The policy includes a very broad definition of what constitutes a coup. Coups are defined as including the takeover of a micronations infastructure, for example through hacking, to the setup of a rival entity laying claim to a micronational identity as well as coups from those in charge of a micronation. The policy statement provides an example of "the President of ExampleNation declaring themselves Emperor and attempting to assume a role of absolute power contrary to ExampleNation's democratic constitution."

[T-R] Breuddwyd launches CashMod Banking System

The Kingdom of Breuddwyd today announced the launch of its new banking system, based on the phpBB Cash Mod. The new banking system is fully integrated with forum logins at the Kingdom's phpBB board, making Breuddwyd one of three micronations to pursue this model of integration. What makes the Breuddwydian system unique is the utilization of an automated post reward and betting agency.

Post rewards have been attempted by a variety of micronations in the past, they have all failed due to one of two problems. The sheer amount of work calculating and assigning rewards to peoples bank accounts, and preventing users from spamming for cash. The Breuddwyd system automatically assigns post rewards. Users recieve an insignifigant 2 gwy for each new topic or reply on the Breuddwyd forums, where users recieve signifigant rewards (10 gwy) is when other users reply to topics they started.

The system also allows for the government of Breuddwyd to issue fines and award bonuses. The King of Breuddwyd, Ciaron Broeck, has stated that these issues will be dealt with by legislation.

The betting agency allows any user to bet any amount of Gwy on any event. Sporting odds are automatically calculated by bets365.com, other odds will be calculated by the board administration.

[T-R] The Idiots Guide to Breuddwyd

In responce to ongoing expressions of bewilderment, the King of Breuddwyd has published the first 'Idiots Guide to Breuddwyd'. The guide offers an interesting definition of a micronation which will no doubt be met with new accusations that the Kingdom of Breuddwyd is some form of joke.

From the Guide:
In theory a micronation is a very small country. The term can also refer to idealistic attempts at forming a new nation, but is more commonly used to describe groups or communities (usually online) dedicated to a pretentious form of political simulation.

Micronations are pretentious in the fact they insist they are real nations. This is usually argued along some airy-fairy lines like “a nation is just a group of people that see themselves as a nation” or “national identity is determined by you, not where you happened to be born”. Terms like “Virtual immanent global sovereignty” or “sovereign non-territorial nation” are used with regularity.

Breuddwyd has also announced the passage of the Petitions Decree 2004. The King has been quick to counter potential claims that Breuddwyd is becoming more democratic stating "Yes, the peasants can now submit petitions, I however reserve the right to tell them where to ram their petitions". The new Idiots Guide to Breuddwyd describes the King as "a despotic and evil ruler".
